What to Expect

At a Steel Challenge match, you’ll find a series of stages, each with five steel targets. Your goal is to shoot these targets as quickly as possible.

• You will shoot at steel targets.
• The number of stages can vary; local matches may have fewer stages, while larger matches will have more.
• You’ll get multiple opportunities, known as runs or strings, to shoot each stage.
• EquipmentSteel Challenge has different divisions based on the type of firearm:
  • Centerfire pistols
  • Rimfire pistols (with irons or optics)
  • Pistol-caliber carbines (with irons or optics)
